Town Hall Meeting on FCC Regulation Impacting PTC

September 16 • 10:00 am PDT

To ensure that everyone is fully informed and prepared to comply with NEW FCC and PTC regulations in advance of AEP, we are hosting a virtual Town Hall meeting on September 16th at 10 AM PST. During this meeting, we will review the details of the new FCC rule and discuss the necessary steps to adjust your marketing practices accordingly.

We are writing to inform you about a significant regulatory change recently adopted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that will impact how we obtain and use Permission to Contact (PTC) in all call campaigns and websites. This change pertains to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and will go into effect on October 1, 2024.

Key Topics to be Covered:

Individual Consent Requirement: Each entity in a marketing campaign must now independently secure one-to-one consent from consumers, rather than relying on collective consent. For example, the agent receiving consent must be specified in writing via lead card.

Clear and Conspicuous Disclosure: How to ensure that your consent agreements are visible, understandable, and compliant with FCC standards.

NEW Lead Cards: These will include the latest disclosures for 2025 and allow you to specify the agent receiving consent.

Action Required:

Please mark your calendars for September 16th and plan to join us for this important discussion. It is crucial that all agents, agencies, and partners attend to fully understand the implications of this regulatory change and to prepare for the October 1, 2024, deadline.

We look forward to your participation and to supporting you through this transition.
